Director: Anil Sharma
Cast: Sunny Deol, Prakash Raj, Amrita Rao, Johnny Lever, Urvashi Rautela
Music director: Sonu Nigam and Anand Raj Anand
Rating: 3/5
Music: The songs of Singh Saab The Great are nothing to write about. Singh Saab The Great is a barely hearable album.
Story: Collector Karanjit Talwar (Sunny Deol) is an honest officer well known in the political circles. He is posted to Bhadori where the corrupt Bhudev Singh’s (Prakash Raj) owns the village. Talwar tries to stop the malpractices and then begins the fight for justice and revenge against the corrupt system.
The script is brilliant and the story is heart touching but the second part drabs a bit too long. The romance between Sunny Deol and newcomer Urvashi Rautela is a misfit, they lack the chemistry.
Amrita Rao and Prakash Raj have strong roles and they do justice with their performances. Johny Lever and Sanjay Mishra could have easily been left out.
Why you should watch Singh Saab The Great: The film is far from perfect but a must watch for Sunny Deol fans. Surprisingly, the story does stand out and shows a novelty. The message of the film comes across strongly and so does Sunny Deol’s action sequences.
Why you should miss it: The action can get rather loud and unbearable, especially if you do not enjoy action films.
