As summer vacations approach so do Kiddie films, well Hawaa Hawaai is beyond an ordinary kid film, it is a fun yet motivational and inspirational film which will leave you all emotional. Here’s our review of Hawaa Hawaai:
Cast: Saqib salim, Partho Gupte, Pragya Yadav, Anuj Sachdeva and Makrand Deshpande
Direction: Amole Gupte
Story: Hawaa Hawaai is the story of a boy Arjun (Partho Gupte) who shifts to Mumbai along with his mother, little sister and granny after losing his father and home. He drops out of school and begins to work at a tea seller. There’s no joy in his life until he makes friends with three street kids. He watches rich kids skate and dreams of winning, with the help of coach Lucky (Saqib Salim), who mentors these kids and his friends who help him to make his dream come true.
Music: The music of Hawaa Hawaai by Hitesh Sonik is different to say the least. Choolhe ke angaarey sung by Amole Gupte has a very metaphorical take on life. Ghoom gayi by Sunidhi Chauhan is a peppy and foot-tapping number.
Most numbers are motivational and clean but in a kids film you expect more kiddish songs, right?
Why you should watch the film: Director Amole Gupte brings two underused Bollywood genres sports and children’s films into one fantastic masterpiece. Hawaa Hawaai is one moving, touching and an emotional tale of a boy’s dream.
Hawaa Hawaai has all the ingredients for that perfectly touching film anyone can relate to. It is inspiring, well-cast and well-enacted film. The street kids. their friendship and chemistry is beautiful. Saqib acts well as Lucky the coach.
Why you should miss Hawaa Hawaai: The story is a tad too emotional and can get heavy. The tension between the brothers, the accident how lost their parents, Lucky’s accident, parts of the feel border on forced and preachy. Also many scenes required more daft editing and just drag the movie.
Special mention: Everyone who says Bollywood doesn’t attempt good films, must watch this. Truly an opinion changer.
