Weddings and dressing up for them is usually a task for the non ethnic person like me. I am still wearing anarkalis to weddings! We met designer Shilpa Kirpal who has a great Indian wear and fusion wear at her brand Ruffles. Here are her 4 style tips every fashion diva must follow:
Indo westerns: Shilpa Kirpal explained to us that indo westerns are the safest bets to dress up this wedding season. With the increase in destination weddings, the need to experiment is also increasing. No one wants to look completely traditional and this is where mixing key international styles in Indian clothes helps. A tube top or a peplum kurti are far easier to handle and look stylish.
Plus Size dressing:
Indo westerns are a great option for fuller women as they help conceal your curves. However opting for straighter fits is a must. The more curvy the style the heavier you will look.
Colours to pick:
While the bride has all the right to dazzle in reds and maroons no matter what the season, bridal parties must think of the season before picking out clothes. Mints, powder pinks look great in summer weddings and day time winter functions.
Designs to look out for:
Try clothes with intricate gota patti work. My collection this year is much more about gotta patti work and how it add charm to clothing.
