Young women achievers always make AAW feel proud. When we got a chance to associate with this multi-tasking successful entrepreneur, Nikita Arya we were excited to know more about her. Check out her exclusive interview with All About Women here:
So what makes her a successful young businesswoman?
Nikita: You only live once, but if you live right, once is enough. What would one attempt to do if we knew that there is success coming your way? Generally, the answer to this approach would be grabbing the best opportunity. That is what I did while deciding my career to start various entrepreneurial activities
But what made her take the plunge into business and multiple ones at the same time?
Nikita: Since my childhood, I wanted to do something unusual and multi-task my work. My school days were extremely fun where I was known as a social butterfly, always mingling around with fellows, taking keen interest in competitions and activities and had passion for social and voluntary work. Always inquisitive, ready to learn new things and I took challenges in a sporting manner. This quality was appreciated by all my teachers and fellow students. So yes it was ingrained in my brain and multi rasking has always come normally to me!
You went to London for a few years, how was the experience?
Nikita: I pursued my Undergrad degree in Law thereafter followed by MBA from London, UK. Living abroad for 9 years has added an immense work experience to my profile and made me a different person all together. I have learnt to value human beings, time and money. Apart from my education, I was extremely social in my university days. My expertise, talent and mingling around with multi-cultural people helped me win the elections for Middlesex University Students’ Union twice for the post of Vice-President Academic Officer. The role was demanding but splendid as it always motivated me and I delivered my best to my role and to the students. I endeavored and ensured to provide as much voluntary and necessary support to my fellow students. Thereafter, I acquired an opportunity to work with an Immigration Law firm in the UK.
What did you do after moving back to India?
My visit to India in Oct 2012 changed my life all together, when I decided to open a Tiki Bar, the first Hawaiian Themed Restro-Bar in Delhi at the age of 26. With support from family, experience, dreams and passion along with the expertise of adept minds in the hospitality business I started Bora Bora Tiki Bar in Feb 2013; which is a destination that offers a product that is authentic, inventive yet superior in its quality. However, the journey doesn’t end at Bora Bora.
I started my own Event Management Company “THE FAIRYTALE’Ss ” with specialisation in concept based Corporate & Club Events, Wedding Planning & Exhibitions. With over 2 years of experience we have held our exhibitions successfully in Delhi & Dubai and showcased over 500 designers like Soltee by Sulakshana Monga; Anu Kaushik (Bollywood Celebrity MUA); Reve Luxury by Khushali Kumar; Satya Paul; Mahamaya Jewellers; FURLA; MAI presenting (Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, Falguni & Shane Peacock, Malini Ramani) & many more.
What made you pick NGO and charitable work?
Friendly and approachable I’m a good listener and respect others’ views regardless of the situation. A confident speaker with burning drive for results I work well under pressure – both as a team player and on my own. I have gained vast knowledge through my voluntary work for Air Force War Widows, Old Age homes, Rotary Club, Kargil Wartime, NGOs and our family run Karam Prakash Khattar Charitable Trust which organizes camps for Asthamatic patients.
Don’t forget to shop at THE FAIRYTALE’SS on 1st May 2016 at Hotel The Ashok, New Delhi presenting India’s 1st Bollywood Themed Fashion, Jewels & Lifestyle Exhibition. Fairytales is held by the multi-talented entrepreneur Nikita Arya, a lawyer by profession, a restaurateur by choice and heads her event management firm ‘The FairyTales’ by passion.
