A few years back filmstar Fardeen Khan posted on a social media that his wife has suffered a miscarriage. The actor who had a few months back announced his wife’s pregnancy on Twitter and had also moved house to London, for giving her better facilities. The family was in agony. Though he now has kids and is happy, miscarriages can leave a permanent impact on a family.
Miscarriage is a very difficult time for a family especially the woman. Most women go through denial, crying, depression and at times they blame themselves for the miscarriage. But understand, it is no one’s fault. Here are a few ways how to deal with a miscarriage:
Reach out: Let your family and friends stand by you. Talk to them. Share your innermost feelings with your loved ones. Do not block everyone out from your life. If you find the grief too much to share go to a counsellor or psychiatrist.
Grieve: It is OK to cry and feel sad for the loss. Take your time to grieve, never bottle up that pain and sorrow inside you. Grieving also helps in healing.
Get physically fit again: The sudden changes in hormones and the loss of a baby can take a toll on your body. Eat healthy and try to exercise daily. Exercising will help you in sleeping better as well.
Connect with your husband: Your husband too has lost something precious so do not block him out. Talk to him, share your saddest feelings and it is ok for both of you to grieve together.
Donate: During difficult times god and his healing powers can help you. Visit your place of worship as often you can. Also donating to the needy will help you feel better.
