Recently, the teaser for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated period-drama, Gangubai Kathiawadi, was released, and it sure looks like one interesting plot. The movie stars Alia Bhatt in the titular role, the film depicts the story of a brothel-owner from Kamathipura, Mumbai’s infamous red-light area. Since the release of the teaser, it has been trending on social media.

While her accent seems a little disconcerting, the cinematography, like always, appears to be breathtaking.
Bollywood celebs and Ali’s friends were all praises for the movie. Shah Rukh Khan, who co-starred with Alia in Dear Zindagi, tweeted: “I always look forward to your work as an actor ‘little one’. And this one seems extremely special….And you…So Gangsta! All my love and wishes for the film.” Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh also appreciated the actress.
