Here are some tips to manage healthy eating while working from home:
Working from home is very beneficial but it has some disadvantages as well, like no or little physical exercise and poor diet habits. There are chances that you are on a conference call for a long time and instead of having a proper meal, you end up having some chips and chocolates. Keeping your nutrition in check while you are working from home can be a challenge. So here are some tips to manage healthy eating while working from home:
- Follow a schedule
Snacking is the biggest mistake that we make. Experts recommend setting up your day like any regular working day, with a lunch break, a few smaller breaks, and a focus on the most important meal: breakfast. Eat breakfast away from your desk.
- Make sure you eat
Once you start working it is really difficult to take a break to actually eat. But it is important to know your hunger signs, as it can also affect your alertness and productivity. If needed, set an alarm on your phone to remind you to get up and eat something.
- Drink plenty of water
Dehydration can lead to many health issues, always keep a water bottle at your desk. If you have water readily available, there are chances you are going to drink it.
- Healthy snacking
I know snacking cannot be controlled, but you obviously don’t want to overdo it. So keep your kitchen loaded with healthy snacks or you can also go for fruits and salad as snacking options. Some healthy snacks include diet mixture, dry fruits, peanuts, fox nuts, roasted chickpeas, and more.
- Focus on real food
Balanced and nutritious food is important to make us more productive. It keeps you fuller for a longer period of time. Understand that what you will eat will impact your mood and energy level, so choose wisely. Focus on protein, fiber, healthy fats, fruits, and veggies.
