CoWIN to be available for global adoption from today.
CoWIN app will be addressed in a global conclave and the interested countries can adopt the app for their use. The app has been used by Indians to book slots, find vaccination centres and download their vaccination certificates.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing this conclave. Countries including Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, Canada and many others have shown interest in adopting CoWIN app. Participation of various health and technology experts is being expected.
Union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan will be inaugurating the event. Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan, Dr RS Sharma, CEO of the National Health Authority (NHA) and Foreign secretary HV Shringla are likely to be speakers at the event.

CoWIN stands for Covid Vaccine Intelligence Work and the app/ website has been used in India for months to book slots for vaccination and it connects people with their nearest centres.
People can book up to four slots from one profile and even link their passports with the vaccination certificate.
