Paris Olympics 2024: All Indian athletes to qualify for the Olympics

Meet the Champions: India’s Star Athletes Set to Shine at Paris Olympics 2024

As the Paris Olympics 2024 unfold, anticipation is reaching fever pitch, especially for Indian sports fans. All eyes are again on Neeraj Chopra, who aims to defend his title in the javelin throw, solidifying his legendary status. The journey to Paris has been nothing short of dramatic for India’s shooting team. The saga began with trap shooter Bhowneesh Mendiratta grabbing India’s first Olympic quota at the 2022 ISSF World Championships. Yet, in a twist of fate, Prithviraj Tondaiman ultimately secures the spot after national trials.

For the first time, Indian shooters have secured a quota in every Olympic shooting category, showcasing the country’s growing prowess in the sport. In athletics, race walkers Priyanka Goswami and Akshdeep Singh have made history by becoming the first Indians to qualify for Paris 2024. The men’s 20-kilometer walk event sees fierce competition, with four athletes surpassing the Olympic qualifying standards. However, only three can advance, leading to Akshdeep, Vikash, and Paramjeet Singh earning their tickets to Paris, while Ram Baboo and Suraj Panwar narrowly miss out.

Priyanka and Akshdeep have also clinched quotas for India in the mixed relay marathon race walk event, an exciting development. Yet, it will be Suraj who partners with Priyanka in this unique competition in Paris.

With such thrilling stories and incredible achievements, let’s take a closer look at the full list of Indian athletes who have qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024.
