Anant Ambani donates 20kg Gold crown to Lalbaugcha Raja ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi festival:
Earlier last evening, the highly anticipated first glimpse of Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja was revealed ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. Devotees were left in awe as they beheld Bappa, dressed in a stunning maroon outfit and adorned with exquisite jewelry. A standout feature this year is the 20-kg gold crown, valued at ₹15 crore, reportedly donated by Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation.
Anant Ambani has maintained a long-standing connection with the Lalbaugcha Raja committee through various initiatives over the past 15 years. He is frequently seen attending Lalbaugcha Raja events during Ganeshotsav and regularly participates in the idol’s immersion at Girgaon Chowpatty Beach.
The Ambani family, through Reliance Foundation, has continued their support for the Lalbaugcha Raja mandal by contributing to various health-related initiatives. This includes the donation of 24 dialysis machines during the pandemic to bolster the committee’s patient aid fund. Anant Ambani’s involvement has grown further, as he now serves as an executive advisor to the committee.
The unveiling of Lalbaugcha Raja ahead of the festival has already garnered significant attention. The idol was initially seen dressed in maroon attire and adorned with intricate jewelry, including Ambani’s impressive gold crown. In another striking look, Bappa was adorned in yellow attire, complemented by over 66 kg of gold ornaments, as well as more than 336 kg of silver and precious stones.
Each year, millions of devotees flock to the Lalbaugcha Raja mandal, with an even larger crowd expected during the ten-day Ganeshotsav, beginning on September 7. The festivities will conclude with the grand immersion, where the idol will be carried to Girgaon Chowpatty, accompanied by the spirited chants and music of devoted followers.
Lalbaugcha Raja, one of Mumbai’s most revered Ganesh mandals, continues to be a central highlight of the city’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
