Rohit Sharma & his T20 Champions have finally landed in Mumbai after their T20 World Cup triumph at 6:05 AM on an Air India flight. Hundreds of fans, holding signs to congratulate their favorite players and waving the national flag, gathered despite the weather to welcome the victorious team. By 7:00 AM, the team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, stepped out of the terminal. While the other players boarded the team bus first, Rohit stole the show. He walked out holding the T20 World Cup trophy, leaving fans in awe. The cheers and applause were deafening! To make the scene even more joyful, Rohit and his teammates were seen dancing to the beats of Dhol expressing and celebrating their victory, clearly enjoying every moment.

The team had defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final held in Bridgetown just last Saturday. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and the rest of the team had been stuck in Barbados since Monday because Hurricane Beryl shut down the airports. A special flight finally brought them home early Thursday morning by Air India with a special call sign: AIC24WC, which stands for Air India Champions 24 World Cup. The Indian cricket team went straight to the ITC Maurya Hotel in Chanakyapuri, where they received another warm welcome with a cake in the team’s jersey colors prepared for them.

Later in the day, they’re set to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi before heading to Mumbai for a big celebration.

In Mumbai, the team will enjoy an open-top bus parade starting at 5 PM from the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) and traveling through Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium. The parade will be followed by a special event at the stadium from 7 to 7:30 PM.

“It’s coming home,” tweeted captain Rohit Sharma, inviting fans to join the celebration.
