Apple has launched an all new iPhone 6 and 6 plus. The new phones by Apple as usual are better and set apart from their competitors making them piece-de-resistance and an important fashion statement. The watch launched along with the iPhones has us drooling. Here are 6 things you must know about the new iPhone:
The biggest, thinnest iPhones ever: iPhones will now come in two models, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus. The original iPhone in 2007 had a screen of just 3.5 inches. The larger size has better clarity with 750 by 1334 and 1080 by 1920 pixels, respectively.
Interestingly, these are the thinnest iPhones ever: they’ll be 6.9mm and 7.1mm, respectively, compared to 7.6mm for the iPhone 5S.
Apple is at last copying Android: Apple is aping the Android with bigger phones and the power button has been moved the power button from the top of the phone to the right-hand side.
Better battery: This one will relieve many Apple says these are the most powerful and power-efficient iPhones ever. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus use a brand new, Apple-designed processor called the A8 which make computing tasks as much as 50 per cent faster. The new phones will have slightly better battery life. Wifi browsing time has been increased from 10 hours for the iPhone 5s to 11 hours for the iPhone 6 (and 12 hours on the 6 Plus).
Cost the same as old ones: The iPhone 6 abroad will cost $199 for a low-end model with 16 GB of storage. That increases to $299 for a 64 GB model and $399 for a 128 GB model. In India the rates are still to be finalized.
Better camera: The camera on the iPhone 6 (and 6 Plus) has a new sensor that allows the camera auto-focus twice as fast as previous iPhones. The new iPhones also has an all new slow-motion video feature. The new phones also supports “burst selfies.”
All new iOS 8: A new iPhone always means a new and upgraded operating system. iOS 8 will be released on September 17, and be pre-loaded on the new iPhones. This update has several major features.
