Yauatcha is class apart! Truly, unlike most restaurants in Delhi Yauatcha spells class and beauty. We went here to try their Chinese New Year Specials and this is now in my highly recommended list.
Meal for two: 2500 INR ++
Ambience: The clean white, neat tables make you feel the air of sophistication and it’s neat without being uptight. In fact kudos to the Yauatcha people to have a small designated smoking area inside, which makes it easier for smokers.
Service: The service is great, the wait staff knows their food and key ingredients that eases you about being in expert, trained hands.
Dumplings galore: So in Chinese tradition we had lots of dumplings as starters, each yummier than the first, soft, succulent, melt in the mouth variety. The vegetarian options were the Truffle and English carrot dumplings and Corn, carrot and curry dumpling. I loved the Truffle and English carrot dumplings in its pale green colour looked just as delectable as they tasted.
The people on out table were super happy with the Seafood shui mai and Lobster ho fun roll in black pepper sauce. I loved the purple hued Chicken and coriander dumpling, its chicken flavour was soft and a must try in our list.
Drinking delight: While I loved my drink, Cherry chaser is a pink coloured cocktail with the key flavours of ginger, lime and gin the concoction it can be gingery for some.
Main course: The beauty of the food did not end with the dumplings, the main course is far well thought out and it really shows in the flavours offered. No two food items taste the same, which is the mark of an established chef. My favourites that afternoon were and Mahlak udon noodles.
The Braised pork belly in spicy yellow bean sauce with cigar mantou roll is soft juicy pieces of well marinated pork belly served with sweet bread also called the mantou roll, that I loved. It is served with a spicy yellow bean sauce which acts as a dip for the bread. Please look at the precious eye to detail, with pomegranate and greens added to enhance beauty of the dish.
The Mahlak udon noodles were noodles tossed in sauce, chicken and veggies. They had enough gravy to make them a complete dish in itself and this tasted completely Indo Chinese but without the overbearing salt and spice.
Toban fried rice is a must have with curries.
The people on our table loved the lobster.
Desserts to die for: Yauatcha does its own desserts, so much so that they do their ice creams too. The perfection reflects in their desserts. The crunchy caramel with honeycomb ice cream was soft delish caramel mousse with a chocolate center. The ice cream was vanilla but creamy and too good to be forgotten.
Raspberry Delice is probably the most well known desert here and god level is the only way to describe this chocolate mousse with a hint of raspberry as.
Rating: 4.8/5 The best I have had so far!
