From Sushi to Sui Mai, @WelcomHotel Sheraton’s new menu is a hit
When culinary maestros meet they surely make magic. The new menu at Pan Asian surely makes one think so! The food here is perfection in looks, taste and a unique balance of flavours. We recently went to the #orientalodysseyatPanAsian held by CrazeMag and TrendingFeeds and the evening was delightful catch up with friends and delectable food! Chef Vaibhav Bhargava who curated the menu knows his food extremely well because getting the flavours right is an art.
“As a farm-to-table restaurant, it is important to showcase how abundant our nation truly is year round. Recreating our dishes regularly only makes sense. And to further strengthen our expertise in Chinese cuisine, we have recently been joined by Chef Jian Wei Lee. Chef Lee joins us from Dubai and has a vast experience in Chinese cuisine. ” says Chef Vaibhav Bhargava, Executive Sous Chef at Pan Asian, WelcomHotel Sheraton, New Delhi.
Although the new menu remains true to Pan Asian’s roots of Oriental comfort foods, keeping staples like the Micro Cress Salad, Prawn Har Gow, Chicken Sui Mai with Chef’s secret sauce , guests can now expect to see a myriad of lighter, vegetarian alternatives as well as fun and quirky Bento Boxes.
Ambience: PanAsian much more like most classy ITC hotels has a clean, luxurious and comfortable feel to it. Do go to their special dining area which is filled with soft moonlight in the evening making it enchanting.
Service: The staff as expected from a place like this is warm, polite and yet discreet enough not to notice you cannot pick a sushi with your chopsticks no matter what!
Drinks: The evening was made rich with the Fratelli red and white wines which flowed as accompaniments to the meals.
Food: The food here is a complete blend of perfect flavours and here are a few dishes I loved and will go back for them soon.
The sushi, it stands out like a gem in Delhi’s sushi scene. Now sushi is becoming much more common as varieties of restaurants are trying to serve them but ideal sushi is still an art. The sushi here is delectably filled with the right amount of filling and the bite sized beauty makes them stand out. I loved the salmon expression roll. They were dinner for me, I ate one too many! That is how addictive good sushi can be.
The dimsums were another star for the night. The oriental odyssey kept getting better and better. Dimsums at Pan Asian are soft, adequately flavoured and perfectly filled. Need we say more? We loved the Chicken Suimai.
Salads usually are a pain as they can be either dipped in mayonnaise overload or be dry as grass. However the microcress salad here is worth a bite. As the slight sauce and plum cut through the greens providing a burst of delicate flavours.
The evening was truly a learning experience and Chef Vaibhav Bhargava deserves an ovation for his creative genius.
