Food and especially buffet food always seems exciting. But usually buffet food isn’t great in terms of quality as I fee,l it is much more about bulk preparations to cut cost. However a few days back on a visit to the newly opened Mall of India, Noida I was intrigued by the rush outside Pirates of the Grill, which made me want to try their offerings.
The food here was unlike many buffet. They had a live grill at the table to keep your food hot but the array of food surprised me. The starters had me filled! And all i had was bites of an equally yummy main course, i would have liked to binge on,
Price for two: 1200+
Ambience: The restaurant has a very basic and clean ambiance. The opulence lies in its serving style and the bar. It is the perfect place to take your family or a big party of people.
Service: Pirates of the Grill is mostly about self service and only the starters, mainly the grills, are served on the table. The service is quick and efficient, they kind of know what they are doing.
Food: Let’s discuss what this place stands for, the grills. The chicken malai tikka, tandoori chicken and roasted pineapple were the best among the ones I tasted. The chicken was well cooked and juicy, something which many restaurants cannot nail.
Their is a plethora of salads like channa chaat, dahi bhalla to choose from. We tried only a bite of the channa chat. There were some yummy melt in your moth variety of dumplings too!
The mains are equally a vast menu. I loved the butter chicken, chicken biryani and dal makhni. The Chinese fare is a bit average. They spoil you with their choices, I for one wanted to taste a lot more but my stomach filled all thanks to their serving size and offerings.
The desserts are great. The Indian sweets are the star of the buffet. Some of the cakes are too gorgeous, the chocolate flourless being a stellar.
Would I go again: Yes
