The classiest of global cuisine enthralls us at Tanddav
Delhi has its share of high and low pubs, eateries and clubs. But the proper fine dining dinner variety of restaurants is still missing and when we got a chance to try Tanddav we were floored. Unlike most places, this one opens up only for dinner and requires you to dress up in smart casuals. The kind of place you will like to take your date to. The place also boasts of the biggest wine cellar in town.
Ambience: Tanddav designed keeping its exclusivity in mind looks like some posh sitting area. They kinds we seen in Hollywood films, and it does look uber classy with its grand staircase and a huge chandelier.
Service: The staff as expected from a place like this is warm, polite and yet discreet enough to silently refill that class of wine.
Drinks: The drinks here match the food perfectly. While the white wine sangria is a huge winner for me, the frozen sangria sorbet is a must have for wine lovers. The shots here are a blend of molecular gastronomy and the little balls of Baileys ravioli is a burst of alcohol, perfect to get your party started.
Food: The food here is a complete blend of perfect flavours and here are a few dishes I loved and recommend you to try.
The special House salad delicately made with fresh greens, pine nuts and oranges to balance the flavours is delicate and not over powered with seasoning, a striking contrast to most salads.
Mushroom Gyoza is a Japanese style dumpling filled with a flavourful mushroom and the best vegetarian starter. Chicken Harumaki is a puff pastry Thai inspired chicken filled patty and with its rich thai flavours a must try for chicken lovers.
Chicken Xacuti is a star dish, a rendition of the famous goan staple, this dish is fiery and perfectly combined with Japanese rice.
The deserts are the king at Tanddav. The chocolate dome with churros has undoubtedly one of the finest churro Delhi can offer. The ice creams here can put the best ice cream places to shame with their in-house cinnamon and berry ice cream. The coconut jaggery crepes are super too!
