Want to go to a fancy place and not empty your pocket too? Unlike other expensive options, I went to the Wood box Cafe in DDA Market, Hudson Lane near Delhi University, North campus and I came back happy food and cost–wise too. Wood box cafe attracts the university crowd from DU and I am sure this restaurant is definitely famous for its food as well as its tastefully done decor.
Food: The place specializes in serving cuisines ranging from American, Lebanese, Continental, and Italian along with an array of bakery goods. The variety of shakes and drinks offered combined with their quantity will make you fall in love with this place.
Wood box café also offers an interesting menu while giving an added twist to the names of their food items like Batata Bravas, Caps of Fungi and there is a wide range of fusion fries to choose from, which come in variety from Tangy Imli, Garlic Mayo to Spicy Chicken.
Meal for two: Approximately 500 INR
Price: The best thing about Wood box Cafe is that they do full justice to their food along with their pricing. The food is moderately priced and not at all heavy on the pocket. However, earlier the place excluded VAT on their bills, which has become applicable recently.
Ambience: One needs to see the place to fall in love with it at first glance! Much like its name the restaurant resembles a wooden box with customised interiors done by their in-house designing team. The wall décor and the beautifully crafted lanterns of the café are definitely a new concept and worth checking out. It has ample space as the cafe has a rooftop, basement and ground floor seating, getting a seat is never a problem here. Wood box café provides the perfect ambience for sipping coffee with a friend or a loved one.
Must Try: The menu is elaborate and most of the food will make you hungry! The sandwiches are at this place are a must try especially the cheesy chicken grilled sandwich. The burgers also stand out the Veggie and Chicken Texas Rodeo are a must try. Chicken espetada, Caps of Fungi, Pasto Pasta are a delight to have these are perfect dishes without overdoing on flavour.
The drinks especially the shakes rule. Black forest cake, Butterscotch Nut Crush, Brownie and Kitkat are some of the heavenly shakes you will all love. Fries and with a cup of delicious mayonnaise are an additional treat served with both the sandwiches and the burgers.
One can give the pizzas at this place a skip as the quantity and the taste might be a little disappointing after the other must haves at this cafe.
Rating: 5/5
Would I visit again? Definitely to try out their other specialities and we would love to recommend it to others.
