Don’t we all want to go back to those wonderful school days when samosa was a treat and binge-ing on churan outside school made us happiest? Well the Back to School fiesta at the Leela Ambience Hotel is all this and much more!
The festival is on till 21 of August and has all the elements of our school era. From ludo to waiters dressed in school uniforms. The festival also has a special canteen which serves canteen food in school tiffins. So you get finger licking pav bhaji, piping hot samosas and some nimbu pani in a water bottle.
The festival is a part of their buffet at Cafe Knosh that has Indian, Continental and Asian cuisines. We loved the cheese station, hot wood fired pepperoni pizza, pav bhaji and the yummyilicious chicken grills. The starters vary from old school tiffin meals and crispy fresh salads to cheese platters. The Indian food was most popular on our table, followed by the continental. I howeve loved the pizza. The masala chai and coffee are perfect endings to your meal.
The massive dessert offerings are worth a try with the srikhand winning us over. PS they have also demarcated sections into classes or old school hindi ‘kaksha’! The serving staff wears a school uniform with badges like prefect, head boy and head girl. You can also fill the report card which is their feedback form.
I still can’t get over Poppins and ram laddoo from the special churan wali cart! Go there with your siblings, friend or children to show them what all schools meant in your time.
