Delhiities have a reason to rejoice as AnnaMaya(Anna means Annapurna(goddess of food) and Maya means Magic) have opened up at Andaz Hotel, Aerocity. I am sure many of you must be wondering whats there to rejoice as Delhi and NCR is flooded with restaurants so whats so special about this one?
Concept: Located at the lobby level of the hotel, the AnnaMaya is not like any other restaurant but is a food hall style eatery where food is served and interesting artisanal produce and items are also available for sale. This food hall aims to promote the ‘Made in India’ concept, so all products used here are sourced from locals Indian companies. Mr Vimal Verma Director Food & Beverage also added that besides made in India, they also see that they brand must have a socially inspiring story behind the business execution, and their current business module must be socially relevant in order to help communities and their respective environments within India.
Ambience and Decor: This eatery is divided into different sections that serve desserts, beverages, salads, baked goodies and even have a live kitchen and a mini nursery in which they grow micro greens for salads. As you enter first section is the dessert section which serves some inhouse made gelattos, pastries, chocolates and more. You can even add some toppings and relish your gellatos in chocolate and nuts coated waffle cones. After the dessert section , there is a beverage counter with fruits cart right next to the counter, salad bar with mini nursery and then the live kitchen where you can see your food being cooked.
The place is spacious, bright, vibrant and very colourful with beautiful windows and artwork on the wall. The crockery used is mismatched Khurja pottery ware in various vibrant colours and patterns.
Must Haves: The menu of the place is crafted by Chef Alexander Moser and is divided into four categories The Kitchen, From the Market , Food Hall and sweet corner so you pick from salad to a chicken tikka. Some of the must try dishes are Lamb and Spinach Crepinettes, Char grilled Chicken tikka, Lamb Chops, Amritsari Paneer Tikka, Brocoli pakora, sweet lime salad, goat cheese and red cabbage salad and Butter baked garlic prawns. Since they use only fresh ingredients so there are chances that few items may be seasonal.
Drinks: You can choose from cold coffee, hot coffee, fresh juices, lemonades and more. Tried few of them including cold coffee which was very average, the mango lassi was sour but the highlight was watermelon lemonade.
Prices: The prices of the dishes starts from INR 280 and goes upto INR.1000. A meal for two here would cost you approx INR 3000.
What to pick: You can pick up some organic pickles , chutneys, flours, spices, tea , coffee, chocolates , spices , crockery and Andaz hotel merchandises.
