A few days back I started eating healthier and dieting. Dieting doesn’t mean I starve myself but pick healthier options to eat. When I got the chance to go on a juice detox I jumped at the opportunity. Now these juices were delivered early morning and I began my detox that day itself.
What is cold pressed juice:
Cold-pressed juice refers to juice that uses a hydraulic press to extract juice from fruit and vegetables, as opposed to other methods such as centrifugal or single auger. The process of high pressure processing (HPP) allows the juice to be stored for about 30 days.
How the juice detox work:
The juice detox cleanses the system by giving it a break from the usual junk food we eat. It also helps heal the gut and kick start the sluggish metabolism.
My experience: Now the juices were tasty and filling but you need to overcome the mental road block of not eating solids. I did have dinner. The first one I started the detox was with the juice which metabolises the system. I feel it charged my system and the mint made it taste like golgappa water. Even though the green colour scared me it was yummy and cleansed my system.
For my midmeal snack I had a watermelon, lemon, chia seeds mix and boy it was refreshing. It helped me calm down the usual need for chips and coffee mid morning. And the watermelon tasted divine. The Melon Meledy cold pressed juice was the yummiest and they say chia
seeds are the powerhouse of energy and great for the system.
Around lunchtime I wanted the refreshing feel to stay and picked up the Pine Pleasure. This was my favourite juice of the lot. The pineapple and apple combo is a must try and tastes great.
In the evening I decided to push my limits and skip tea (yet again) and I picked the last juice aptly called Charged. This is usually the time I feel low energy and the need for sweet somethings like a biscuit here a chocolate there starts. But this juice though it tasted funky thanks to carrots (I’m not a carrot person) helped me cope with the evening.
Would I try it again: Definitely. The My Greens juices are vegan, taste absolutely fresh, have no chemicals and a great way to jump start a diet. Some people recommend juice detox once a week and My Greens has a huge variety. I’m already making my next list.
