Lazy girl’s Valentine’s Day cooking guide!
Not all of us love cooking or are born redemption of Nigella Lawson. But we all love impressing our partners! So this Valentine’s day we teamed up with McCain foods for recipes you can make in under 5 minutes and show your cooking skills to your partner.
Potato Cheese Canapé
Ingredients
- Potato Cheese Shots – 5 pieces
- Fresh Parsley – 1 bunch
- Cheese Slice – 1slice
- Pineapple Slice – 1 slice
- Thousand Island Dressing – 2 tbsp
- Black Olive – For Garnish
- Red Pimento – For Garnish
Method of Preparation
- Cut pineapple and cheese slices into 1/2 inch pieces, keep.
- Deep fry McCain Potato Cheese Shots for 2:30 min at 175° C
- Slit into two lengthwise
- Place a cheese slice topped with a pineapple slice
- Place a dollop of thousand island dressing on top
- Place a small leaf of parsley
- Garnish with slice of olive and a diamond of red pimento, serve
Chocolicious Fries
Ingredients
- Fries – 150 gms
- Honey – 1 tbsp
- Chocolate Syrup – 1 tbsp
- Strawberry Syrup – 1 tsp
- Maple Syrup – 1 tsp
- Roasted Almond – 1 tbsp
- Roasted Cashew – 1 tbsp
- Dates – 1 tbsp
- Sugar Strands – 1 tsp
- Gems – 6-8
- Cinnamon Powder
- Corn Flour – 1 tbsp
- Water – 2 tbsp
Method of Preparation:
- Make a thin batter of corn flour and water.
- Coat fries with the batter and deep fry at 175°C for 3 minutes till golden
- In a pan, heat honey, add a pinch of cinnamon powder and toss the fries in it till evenly coated
- Sprinkle some dry fruits and toss
- Place on a serving dish and top with the remaining dry fruits
- Pour chocolate syrup on the fries, spreading evenly
- Top it with strawberry and maple syrup
- Sprinkle sugar strands and gems on top
- Serve
