Kheer is an all time favourite dessert for Indians. All over India there are different versions and names for Kheer. This sweet rice and milk pudding is easy to make. Refrigetrate and decorate it with nuts, cherries and saffron. In most Indian customs, it is a must for every festivity. Here is how to make a treat for your taste buds
Ingredients
1 cup rice (boiled)
1/3 cup condensed milk
2 cups milk
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1 tsp ghee
5-7 finely sliced almonds
Method
- In a pan (preferably non stick) cook together rice, condensed milk and milk.
- Let this concoction simmer for about 15 minutes. To prevent it from sticking, keep stirring it all the time.
- Now add sugar, ghee and cardamom powder into the rice mixture and cook for 7 to 10 more minutes.
- Pour the kheer into serving bowls and top it with sliced almonds.
- Freeze if you want the chilled version.
- For that extra touch, place a rose petal on each serving to impress!
