Prepare the base
A correct base is actually the basis of your makeup. The better the base the more easily makeup will glide and set perfectly. Start with a face primer to make the makeup last all day long. Apply liquid foundation and spread it evenly all over the face and neck with a foundation brush. Dab some loose powder to get an even finish. The makeup takes at least half an hour to settle down so don’t worry if it looks a bit sheer right now the skin does absorb some of it. Tip: Mix moisturizer in the foundation and apply this mix on your neck and décolletage.
Add drama to your eyes
Eyes and lips are the most essential part so pay extra attention to them. Like face the eyelids too need a base, so use an eye makeup base to avoid crease lines. Always remember that eye shadows need blending and not smudging. Divide the eye in three sections: inner corner and one at the arch. The inner corner needs least shadow. The middle one needs a neutral colour use gold or bronze. Use a dark brown on the outer corner and blend this colour for an even look. Apply highlighter on your brow bone and tear duct (inner corner) to brighten the eye and make the eye look awake. Tip: The eye shadow should not go beyond eyebrows. Use an ear-bud or q-tip to get rid of the extra colour and shape the eyeshadow.
Mascara & Kohl
Eye makeup is incomplete without mascara and kohl. Use a pencil Kohl in the lash line. Use a black eyeshadow outside the rim for a smouldering effect. On the eyelid make a line with a burgundy or deep gray colour. For long lasting, liquid eyeliner effect add few drops of Inglot’s Duraline to pigment, eyeshadow or eyeliner. Tip: Use mascara after using an eyelash curler.
Chisel those cheeks
Blush can brighten your complexion but many indian women apply it incorrectly, this gives them a clown look. Take the blush colour on your brush and tap to get rid of the excess. Apply it on the apple of the cheek and blend properly to highlight your cheeks. Take light strokes with the brush from your cheeks (towards your nose) to the side of your face (towards your ears). Tip: Brush downward at the end of blending.
Glossy nude lips
It’s not always important to use a bright lip colour. A light and subtle colour can add the look of mystery to such sultry eyes. Use a lip liner to highlight the lips, put lip colour inside those borders. For glossy, pouty lips use translucent gloss just in the middle of the lips. Tip: Put lip balm before using lipstick.
