Here are some useful tips to practice beauty hygiene.
Most of us have a makeup routine fixed for when we head out but now that we are sitting at home, we have all the time to experiment with our make up. One thing that we do not realize is that our make up brushes are a host of germs which we should definitely get rid of, now more than ever. Apart from keeping ou brushes clean, it is important that we disinfect them and adopt other hygiene practices. Here are some tips that will help you take care of your beauty hygiene.
Wash your face properly before applying makeup
Make sure that you start doing your makeup with a fresh face as you don’t want any germs or bacteria to cause breakouts. It also ensures that you don’t clog up your pores.
Do not share your brushes
Sharing can’t always be caring so make sure you do not share your makeup brushes and lipstick with other people. You are most likely to contract an infection and even sores can be transmitted this way.
Prefer disposable applicators
If you are out to buy makeup or wish to try out a sample, try the ones with disposable applicators to minimize the risk of contracting an infection of any kind.
Close the lids tightly
Make sure that you seal the lids of your foundation bottles tightly after use. Don’t keep the bottles or makeup palettes exposed to air for too long.
Disinfect your tools
Clean your eyelash curlers, tweezers and makeup brushes with a disinfectant regularly. You can also use Isopropyl alcohol for this purpose. Wash the brushes and applicators with soap and water and disinfect them later.
Keep your products in a cool and dry place
Store all your make up products away from the direct heat of the sun and in a dry place. Storing your products at an appropriate temperature will make sure that there is no bacterial growth in your makeup products.
These are a few tips that can help you maintain hygiene when it comes to handling makeup products. Also, throw out all the expired products and wash your hands before using lip balm and moisturizer.
