With summers crackling down on us, the need for a lighter summery wardrobe is imperative. So we headed to Ole Couture this weekend to check out the latest trends available. The fabrics we aimed were light and airy and to my surprise Ole has the perfect summer staples. We got talking to the beautiful, Shivani Madan, about the best looks to carry this hot summer.
This season is all about materials Shivani elaborates, “Linen, soft cotton is what works in this sweltering heat. In face we made sure that we stock up on designers which use a lot of cottons. Designers who work closely with artisans also use organic fabrics and traditional ones like chinkari. We have a steady clientele for such airy fabrics.”
However, cottons in no ways means drab, they have funky skirts, classy tunics and ethereal suits to make you stand out this summer. Fluidity and flow of a garment is ‘in’ this season so loose kurtas, flowing skirts are all in vogue. When asked about the colour for the season, she smiled and said white, white and more white with hints of pastel thrown it.
The latest accessories at Ole are also beautiful, from classically done mojaris to quirky evening clutches to tassle earrings. We tried the beautiful haathphool on and I mentally paired it with three clothes!
