Suicide of 24 year old Television star Pratyusha Banerjee has shocked the film and television industry and outside world as well. She was found hanging at her two BHK flat by boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. The two were living there in a live-in relationship. Pratyusha was declared dead upon being brought to hospital. Her premature suicide recalled the Jiah Khan’s suicide case. While the case is still under investigation, here are some least known facts about Pratyusha:
She was just 16 when she made her television debut. Pratyusha got this opportunity by participating in a contest through Facebook and outshined 70 girls all over India. She was studying while doing the show but this never affected her studies as she finished her graduation with distance education.
Banerjee was stormed by two abusive relationships. Before Rahul, she was in a relationship with businessman Makarand Malhotra. Pratyusha filed a police complaint against Makarand after receiving continuous abuses and death threats. And for past few months she was having issues with her current boyfriend as well, revealed her close friends.
Letter ‘B’ was very lucky for her as other than Balika Vadhu and Big Boss there was nothing really happened to in her short career.
Pratyusha’s security in-charge told a leading news channel that Rahul had a second girlfriend. There were fights only when she visited them. Rahul’s ex-girlfriend Saloni used to torture Pratyusha and that Rahul never took any action against it instead he used to party with her.
She had an active Instagram account. But, from last few months she wasn’t posting anything. This was her last Insta post:
Pratyusha left her debut show Balika Vadhu mid-way and was replaced with Toral Rasputra. Sources stated that she was a moody person. She used to keep her phone off, came drunk to sets and sleep for hours etc. This unprofessional behavior of hers made producers to took such step.
Rahul’s politician father reveled that Pratyusha’s finances were taken care by her parents. She took a loan of INR 50 lakhs under their pressure and failed to repay the same.
Rahul’s father used to send her money. He also disclosed that the actress wanted to file complaint against her parents as she was completely depressed due to continuous calls of financers. Her parents never allowed her to have a separate bank account, they had a joint account.
Kamya Punjabi was her best friend and the one who confirmed her death.
Pratyusha had reportedly got her wedding dress stitched and had planned to marry Rahul on April 14, 2016 on the occasion of Bengali New Year.
Her last WhatsApp status was ‘Mar kar bhi muh na tujhse modna’.
Presently, Rahul is in ICU and is deeply traumatized by Pratyusha’s death. Doctors said that if this continues he may face a brain hemorrhage.
