“December 1997 recorded the lowest MMT of 17.3 degrees Celsius,”  said the officials.

The lowest maximum temperature of 11.4 degrees Celsius was recorded on 25 December by the weather station at Palam.

Here are some tweets shared regarding the weather conditions in Delhi:

The lowest temperature was last observed in the years 1997, 1998, 2003 and 2014 and severe conditions are expected to stay till 20 December 2019. After that,  a change in wind direction is expected so temperature might change, as per the weather reports.

According to the information shared by IMD, a “cold day” is when the maximum temperature is at least 4.5 points below the normally expected temperature and a severely cold day is recorded when the expected temperature is 6.5 degrees below normal.
