Apoorva Mukhija shares her side of the story after India’s Got Latent controversy

Apoorva Mukhija Returns to YouTube After ‘India’s Got Latent’ Backlash; Shares Screenshots of Rape and Death Threats:

Mukhija recounted the incident on the show that triggered her response, saying, “The person on stage made a highly inappropriate comment about my vagina in front of a live audience… my reaction stemmed from genuine anger and a need to defend myself.” She emphasized that her intention was never to cause harm, but simply to stand up for herself.

Opening up further, Mukhija shared deeply personal experiences, including facing abuse in a past relationship, being slut-shamed by her own family, and struggling with self-harm during her teenage years. “For 17 years, I lived in a house that never felt like home,” she revealed.

She also expressed her fears about the impact on her career, admitting, “My worst nightmare was always the fear of becoming irrelevant.” In the aftermath of the controversy, she disclosed losing brand deals, her home, and even her self-worth.

Despite the turmoil, Mukhija shared that a recent trip — which included attending a Sabrina Carpenter concert and exploring the French Alps — helped her gain a new perspective. “I know this is what I signed up for… but I wasn’t okay with it,” she admitted.

On Tuesday, she returned to Instagram, posting screenshots of the hateful messages she has received since the controversy. “And that’s not even 1%,” she noted.

Mukhija was recently seen in Netflix’s Nadaaniyan, starring alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor. Meanwhile, Ranveer Allahbadia has made a quiet return to social media.
