Bawaal Teaser Receives Flak For ‘Romanticizing’ Holocaust:
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen together for the first time with Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal. It is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The teaser of the movie was released yesterday. The teaser introduces Varun and Janhvi’s characters and how their relationship didn’t work because Janhvi failed to understand it. Towards the end of the teaser, Janhvi and Varun were seen in what looked like a gas chamber. Then a man who seemed to be from the Nazi army closed the chamber.
However, netizens did not like it much, they slammed the director for using the holocaust as the backdrop of a love story. Netizens seemed to be confused and divided on the inclusion of the Holocaust, gas chamber, and Nazi Germany in the film. Here are some reactions:
is that the Holocaust or what 😭😭😭 https://t.co/q4IA5kWx6k

n*tesh t*wari is fucking insane…you don’t use a tragedy on the scale of holocaust to portray basic romantic strife..and then to show a gas chamber scene??? all my expectations for this film went out of the window

Contrarily, there were users who stood up for the film too. They expressed that considering Nitesh Tiwari’s previous accomplishments as a filmmaker, it is important to have faith in his sensibility and withhold judgment until the film is actually released.
People need to watch #Bawaal before jumping to conclusions about the Holocaust scene. I am sure those involved with the movie are aware about the sensitivity of the topic & will not treat it in a disrespectful manner.
