Dhanush Lawyer Issues Legal Notice Against Nayanthara for Use of Unapproved BTS Clip in Newly Released Documentary on Netflix
Dhanush’s lawyer has issued a statement demanding the removal of content from the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale within 24 hours or face legal action. The content in question includes a 3-second clip from Dhanush’s film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which Nayanthara used in the docuseries. Dhanush’s legal team threatens to seek Rs 10 crore in damages if the material isn’t taken down. The lawyer also refuted Nayanthara’s claim that the footage was from personal devices, stating that Dhanush, as producer, was aware of all production costs.
This follows Nayanthara’s open letter, where she criticized Dhanush for demanding compensation for the footage and for not allowing use of the film’s songs and visuals in the documentary. She called his actions “an all-time low” and questioned his behavior towards the film’s success.
Dhanush Dismisses Nayanthara’s Claims in BTS Clip Dispute
Actor Dhanush has hit back at Nayanthara’s claims in a legal battle over the use of behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage from the 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. His legal team called her accusations “baseless” and demanded the removal of the footage from her Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, within 24 hours.
Nayanthara’s team had requested permission to use the clips, as the film holds personal significance for her and her husband, Vignesh Shivan. However, Dhanush, who owns the rights to the footage, denied the request, citing copyright issues. Nayanthara alleged the refusal was due to personal differences, not professional concerns, and accused Dhanush of unfair behavior.
The documentary, which gives fans a glimpse into Nayanthara’s life, premiered today, November 18, on her 40th birthday, despite the ongoing dispute. While the legal drama continues, fans are excited to watch her story unfold on screen.
