‘Thank You Sheela Atta’: Dia Mirza posted a heartfelt ode to the female priest who solemnized her wedding:
Earlier this week, actress Dia Mirza tied the knot with businessman Vaibhav Rekhi, in an intimate ceremony. While we all were busy staring at the gorgeous bride, something else also caught our attention, the wedding was officiated by a priestess.
Dia Mirza took to Twitter to share information about Sheela Atta, the priestess who performed her wedding ceremony. Dia shared, “Thank you Sheela Atta for conducting our wedding ceremony. So proud that together we can #RiseUp #GenerationEquality”.

This is obviously a great challenge to patriarchal norms where rarely priestesses officiate ceremonies. And the internet decided to celebrate this break from tradition, they even praised Dia for her choice:
What a symbolic post. Thank you @deespeak for this beautiful reminder of how change starts from us. #GenerationEquality https://t.co/J50e4Ia1Dn
