Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra and American singer Nick Jonas tied the knot in a Hindu ceremony on Sunday at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. The couple had earlier said ‘I do’ in a Christian wedding on December 1 in Umaid Bhawan Palace. Nick’s father Paul Kevin Jonas Sr officiated the Christian wedding.
Before the wedding, there were pre-wedding festivities Mehendi and Sangeet as well. The actress shared the pictures and wrote: One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked of the celebrations in the way we both dreamed.”
The pre-wedding festivities kicked off on Friday. A sangeet ceremony was held for Nickyanka in the evening. As per the reports, Priyanka took to the floor in a pink lehenga and dedicated a performance to Nick. The American singer, in turn, shook a leg for his ladylove as well. Fireworks went off at the Umaid Bhawan Palace at night to celebrate their union.
At the Mehendi ceremony, Priyanka was seen wearing a multicolored lehenga designed by Abu-Jani Sandeep Khosla and Nick Jonas wore a bakhiya kurta by Label’s aqua. The pictures were as bright as there smiles.
At the sangeet ceremony, the bride dazzled in a fully hand embroidered gold and silver Saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Styled by makeup artist Mickey Contractor. On the other hand, the groom looked dapper in open midnight blue sherwani with silk thread detailing. As Parneeti Chopra reveals: the entire family depicted Priyanka and Nick’s love story through an act and she said everyone rehearsed for days and days.
Their sangeet pictures are full of amazing clicks and happiness all around. Nick is said to have performed a medley of his songs at the sangeet ceremony, including versions of Tune Maari Entriyaan and Gallan Goodiyan, according to a DNA report. Priyanka, meanwhile, danced to Desi Girl. She also performed with her mother Madhu Chopra, and cousin, Parineeti. Later, both the families also joined in.
According to the reports, the couple planned for a color themed wedding. They requested the men to dress in shades of pink and green while women were asked to wear the color peach. As per sources, Priyanka wore a red lehenga at the Hindu wedding ceremony. And Nick Jonas came on Godhi, with a proper baarat.
In their Christian wedding, the couple looked stunning in Ralph Lauren outfits. Apart from the couple, all bridesmaids and groomsmen also donned the American designer’s ensembles. Their ceremony was officiated by Nick’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., and the couple exchanged wedding bands by celebrated jeweler Chopard.
Confirming the news, designer Ralph Lauren also took to Twitter to congratulate the couple. He wrote, “Congratulations to @PriyankaChopra and @NickJonas on the occasion of their wedding. Ralph Lauren is honored to have dressed the couple as well as the members of their wedding party.”
