The winner’s list of Grammy’s 2024: Zakir Hussain And Shakti Won
Shakti won the Global Music Album accolade at the 2024 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (Monday in India). The fusion ensemble, Shakti, which includes vocalist Shankar Mahadevan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, John McLaughlin, percussionist V Selvaganesh, and violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan, emerged victorious for their outstanding album.
Zakir Hussain’s supergroup Shakti, which includes vocalist Shankar Mahadevan also won Best Global Music Album for This Moment. Shakti was formed by violinist L Shankar, percussionist Vikku Vinayakram, and British guitarist John McLaughlin.

For those who don’t know, the album This Moment was released on June 30, 2023. This Moment offers a set of eight new compositions and performances. The album consists of 8 tracks, including Shrini’s Dream, Bending the Rules, Karuna, Giriraj Sudha, Mohanam and Las Palmas.
The big three Grammys were shared between Taylor Swift (Album of the Year), Miley Cyrus (Record of the Year), and Billie Eilish (Song of the Year). Taylor Swift also won Best Pop Vocal Album, and Miley Cyrus won Best Pop Solo Performance.
