Actor Imran Khan and wife Avantika Malik have named their daughter Imara. It’s a Swahili name which means strong and resolute. Imran said that Avantika found the name and initially he had a few apprehensions about the name; thinking that it would seem a bit egocentric. The actor is already obsessed with the daughter and told the reporters that his life is over now as he will be on my knees and running after her.
In an interview to a leading daily Iman said that he had booked an extra room for the family, right next to Avantika and the baby but still fell short of space because 10 members arrived together. They had to request the hospital for one more room to accommodate our relatives. And there was a nice family outing happening with everyone ordering French fries, cheese toast and nimbu-paani
Imran Khan married his girlfriend Avantika Malik in 2011, after a 10-year relationship. In December 2013, it was announced that the couple were expecting their first child. Imara was born on June 9 at a boutique suburban hospital in Mumbai. The delivery took place through a cesarean section.
