The 51st International Emmy Awards took place in New York. The Indian representation was super strong at the International Emmys this year. Film and television producer Ektaa Kapoor was honored with the Directorate Award, while Vir Das won big in the comedy category for his Netflix special Vir Das: Landing. He wasn’t alone in this victory – he shared the award with the third season of Derry Girls.

This marked Vir’s second International Emmy nomination and first win. Talking about winning at the International Emmy Awards, Vir expressed his excitement and joy saying, “I have immense gratitude, holding the International Emmy for Best Comedy for ‘Vir Das: Landing.’ This one is for my team and for Netflix without whom this wouldn’t have been possible. This journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, and to win this accolade for my fifth special with Netflix feels like a culmination of passion, perseverance, and the undying support of people around the globe who have given so much love to “Vir Das: Landing”.
Renowned producer and filmmaker Ektaa Kapoor was presented the award for her significant contribution to the world of arts and entertainment.
