Kareena Kapoor turns producer for The Buckingham Murders

Kareena Kapoor discusses her role as a producer for The Buckingham Murders:

Kareena Kapoor makes her debut as a producer with her upcoming film, The Buckingham Murders. The trailer for the mystery thriller was launched on Tuesday in Mumbai, where the actress reflected on her experience as a first-time producer. The film is co-produced by Kareena and Balaji Telefilms, led by Ektaa Kapoor.

Talking about it, Kareena said, “The film is very special to all of us. Today, language does not matter. It is not important which language are you making a film in. What matters is, what are you making. Watch what we have made. We have done this with our hearts. I want to thank my dear Ektaa (Kapoor), who had the belief and guts to always stand by me, to say ‘Okay, we are going to do this together.’ Whatever we have done, we have always been super successful. I am very confident again this time. It is going to be fabulous. She has been my backbone.”

The film centers around Jasmeet Bamra, a British-Indian detective tasked with solving the murder of a 10-year-old child. Alongside her investigation, Jasmeet is grappling with overwhelming grief following the loss of her own child. With tensions escalating due to the arrest of a young Muslim man, she finds herself under immense pressure. As she digs deeper, long-hidden secrets of the community begin to unravel. Predominantly in English, the film marks a significant departure from typical Bollywood fare, boldly addressing the sensitive issue of religious discord.
