Item girl Rakhi Sawant will now contest in the Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North-West constituency. She will lock horns with Congress’s former union minister and party general secretary Gurudas Kamat and Shiv Sena’s Gajanan Kirtikar. Earlier the actress was offered a BJP ticket from Srirampur in West Bengal, but she said she declined it as she didn’t know the local language.
When asked if she would be standing as an independent, she said a political party had offered her a ticket, and she would soon reveal its name. “I have been virtually mobbed by people demanding that I should fight the election, so here I am,” Sawant told media persons. The Bollywood starlet will be fighting on the plank of restoring women’s safety.
Actor Kamaal R Khan challenged her and tweets the same on twitter, “If Rakhi Sawant will get more than 1000 votes then I shall leave India forever. It’s my challenge to Rakhi Ji”.
He also added that salute to Rakhi Sawant who will lose her deposit but still going to contest elections from North West Mumbai.
