Movie Review: What the fish

What the fish
What the fish

The unique what the f**k situation is back, this time with Dimple Kapadia’s OCD act and a fish and money plant are at stake. See what happens when you entrust your house to a (almost) stranger and hell breaks loose.

Cast: Dimple Kapadia, Manjot Singh Music by Amartya Rahut

Director: Gurmmeet Singh

Rating: 3/5

Music: Like most comedy films, the songs are hardly anything to write about. Babbe Mast probably the most advertised track is a bit interesting but the rest of the tracks are below average. Samjhe Na Koi track is appealing but could have been better.

Story:  Sudha Mihra (Dimple Kapadia), a 67-year-old divorcee, living in Vasant Kunj, Delhi who blurts out a host of instructions to one and all. She has to go for a month long trip to US and leaves her house with her niece’s fiancé to ensure that her gold fish and money plant are taken care of. What follows is a series of hilarious events where the house changes a dozen ownerships.

As Sudha is about to hand over the keys of her house to Sumeet, she announces the most important instruction that needs to be carried out daily for the next 30 days – to feed the fish and water the money plant. She dictates the exact time when her pet fish Mishti has to be fed and her money plant needs to be watered.

Why you should watch this movie: Dimple is at her best, her stern act is hilarious particularly when she dictates her terms. She does not trust anyone, in fact she suspects people around her are performing black magic.

The crazy changing ownership of the house lead to a hilarious events. The film is fast-paced and the scenes move quickly. The dialogues are very Delhi based.

Why should miss this movie: The characters do not get enough screen time to build up and nothing unique stays with you.

Special mention: Dimple Kapadia’s act is amazing!
