Aliya Fakhri, 43, sister of Nargis Fakhri, gets arrested in New York for the Murder of her Ex-husband and his friend
Aliya Fakhri, the elder sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, has landed in serious trouble. Aliya, 43, has been arrested in Queens, New York, accused of setting a fire that tragically killed her ex-boyfriend Edward Jacobs and his friend Anastasia Ettienne.
Aliya is facing heavy charges, including first-degree murder and arson. According to authorities, on November 2, Aliya allegedly set fire to a detached garage near Jacobs’ home. Witnesses claim she arrived at the property early in the morning, shouting, “You’re all going to die today.” Moments later, flames engulfed the building, leaving Jacobs and Ettienne trapped inside. Both died from smoke inhalation and severe burns.
Edward Jacobs, a plumber and father of three, had reportedly ended his relationship with Aliya a year ago. However, according to his family, she struggled to move on. Jacobs’ mother told the media that her son had tried to distance himself from Aliya, but she allegedly refused to accept the rejection.
Aliya’s mother has vehemently denied the charges, saying, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who cared for everybody.” Nargis Fakhri has not publicly commented on her sister’s arrest, but fans are waiting to see if the Bollywood star will address the shocking allegations.
The 35-year-old was known as a hardworking plumber and a devoted father of three. Contrary to rumors, his relationship with Anastasia Ettienne was strictly platonic, according to his family. Ettienne’s heroic attempt to save Jacobs during the fire further adds to the tragedy.
For now, the spotlight is firmly on her sister’s legal troubles. Aliya, who was arrested on November 27, faces multiple counts of murder and arson. If convicted, she could spend the rest of her life in prison. Her next court hearing is scheduled for December 9.
