Jiah Khan was found hanging in her apartment in 2013 and since then, her case has been a mystery.
According to her suicide note, her then boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was charged for provoking her to suicide. Later on the CBI gave Sooraj a clean chit and announced Jiah Khan’s death as suicide.
The most recent development has been shared by a UK forensic expert, Jason Payne-James. He was hired by Jiah’s mother, Rabia Khan, after the police ruled out the possibility of her death being a murder and not suicide.
According to the expert, the hanging of the actress was staged. He says that the injuries on the body represent bruises and indicate forceful trauma to the mouth, like someone covering it. He also revealed that the marks on her lower lip and left arm indicate that she was assaulted. The marks on her neck and chin do not look like simple marks from hanging from a dupatta.
He further say that there have been a lot of misinterpretations and the Indian experts did not do a detailed investigation in the case. Payne-James believes that the intention to point her death as suicide means that the real possibilities of a staged hanging after being killed by another person have been missed.
Rabia will be sharing these reports to a Mumbai sessions court on the 21st of September 2016. She is not very sure if the court will even pay any attention to the finding of the private forensic expert who was hired by her.
Sooraj Pancholi’s father, Aditya Pancholi while trying to protect his son said that the reports are form a private lab and are paid. He wants to see if the court accepts it or not. He mentions that there have been several investigations conducted by different agencies and all have proved that her death was suicide.
