Bruce Jenner has officially become Caitlyn Jenner. The former Olympic runner and reality show personality has revealed her new name on Vanity Fair’s July cover following an emotional interview with Diane Sawyer last month where she came out as transgender.
Jenner has also spoken about this transition and his new life as Caitlyn. “If I was lying on my death bed and I had kept this secret and never did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life,'” she revealed to Bissinger in the story in Vogue.
Vanity Fair posted a preview of the story, for which the writer spent “hundreds of hours” with Caitlyn. Jenner reveals her progress in transitioning, having undergone a 10-hour facial-feminization surgery in March.
In an additional behind-the-scenes clip of Jenner’s cover shoot, she speaks candidly about her successes as Bruce and future as Caitlyn. “Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets,” she narrates over the clip. “As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I’m free.”
