Payal Rohatgi detained for a video on Nehru- This is what celebrities had to say
Payal Rohatgi was arrested on December 15 for making a video on Motilal Nehru that stirred controversy. The model-turned-actress informed her followers about the arrest by sending out a tweet.

The video was shared on Facebook and Youth Congress leader Charmesh Sharma filed a complaint at Bundi Sadar police station under sections 66 and 67 of the IT Act. That video has since been deleted and Payal Rohatgi has apologized as well.
However, she wasn’t released and her husband Sangram Singh stood up for his wife. He requested PM Narendra Modi to look into the matter, by sending out a tweet.
This is freedom of Speech in Congress Ruling state, @HMOIndia @PMOIndia @narendramodi Sir. Please have a look this matter🙏 https://t.co/t9zwiuTu7w

Have never agreed with anything #PayalRohatgi has said. Think she’s stupid. But that’s no reason to arrest someone in a democracy. @ashokgehlot51 @SachinPilot #FreedomOfSpeech

I repeat once again , the statements of @Payal_Rohatgi were false & silly but we must not detain her. She has a right to her freedom of speech . As liberals we need to uphold that. That is what makes us liberals . Pls release @Payal_Rohatgi asap!! https://t.co/rL5YoI8Bwu

The celebrities who addressed Payal Rohatgi’s arrest were not pleased to hear about it. PM Narendra Modi is yet to respond to Sangram Singh’s tweet.
