Here is how people are reacting to Deepika’s appearance at JNU protest
Deepika Padukone was seen supporting the JNU students. During the protest and students were more than thrilled to see Deepika leaning toward their side. The repercussion of this support was the boycott of Deepika’s upcoming film, Chhapaak and apart from being the lead actor, she is also the producer of this film.
JNU has been a center of protest and chaos for weeks now and students are being supported openly by many other actors from the film fraternity. Apart from Deepika, other actors that are vocally supporting the protests happening around the capital are Anurag Kashyap, Swara Bhaskar, Konkana Sen Sharma, Vishal Bharadwaj, Javed Akhtar, and many others.
Many people have raised questions in the past about the participation of celebrities in the protests and why they refrain from sharing their political views. Now that Deepika Padukone has come forward in support, people are canceling their tickets for her movie, Chhapaak. This campaign is allegedly being carried out by IT cell members from a certain party.
Here are some of the tweets shared by people that expose this campaign:
Many IT cell members have booked and cancelled exact same ticket for #Chappak #boycottchhapaak

Deepika’s stand is going to make a lot of young people question their parents, their peers and their government. Hopefully they’ll go out and educate themselves. And not parrot everything authority tells them.
