While talking about the film she got emotional, the actress talked about her hardships, the public reaction and thanked Meghna Gulzar, the director for allowing her to get into the role of Malti. The movie apart from Deepika Padukone also stars Vikrant Massey as a social activist who helps Malti (Deepika) and brings her journey in front of all.
The movie is based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal and her struggle with it. The trailer has already crossed 200k views on youtube and is trending on number 2 on twitter.
For people who don’t know the real story behind Laxmi Agarwal’s acid attack face, she was attacked by a 32-year-old man when she was 15 (2006). The whole reason behind this was her denying a proposal, and the man getting egotistic.
