Here is how people reacted to the social media outage that occurred on Monday.
The world came to a halt for most people as the Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook servers went down for 6 hours. The functioning was restored on Tuesday morning and Facebook addressed the issue in a statement.
“configuration changes on the backbone routers that coordinate network traffic between our data centers caused issues that interrupted this communication. This disruption to network traffic had a cascading effect on the way our data centers communicate, bringing our services to a halt.” they wrote describing the issue.
While people were waiting for these social media platforms to regain functionality, they did what they do the best, find the humour in the situation. Here are some tweets that emerged during this outage.
Mark Zuckerberg should try unplugging Facebook and plugging it back in.
