The festival of Holi is just around the corner. As the pandemic is still here, some states in the country have issued guidelines and restrictions on the celebration in view of the rising number of infections.
- Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has banned public, community, and private festivities during Holi and Rangpanchami.
- Haryana: Home Minister Anil Vij was quoted saying, “In the light of the COVID-19 situation, public celebration of Holi will not be allowed in the state.”
- Delhi: The Delhi Disaster Management Authority has banned public celebrations on Holi, Shab-e-Barat, and Navaratri.
- Chandigarh: “The clubs, hotels, restaurants, etc will not allow any ceremonial gatherings for Holi. The residents must celebrate the Holi festival at home while following appropriate Covid protocol.”
Similar restrictions have also been announced in Odisha and UP. However, people are celebrating on social media and sharing memes on the colorful festival on Twitter and Instagram. Have a look:
