Check out the pictures of Randeep Hooda’s epic transformation:
Randeep Hooda is recounting his journey of getting ready to portray the freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. In a recent Instagram update on Monday, the actor shared a picture without a shirt to showcase his significant physical transformation, sparking comparisons with actor Christian Bale among his fans.
The mirror selfie Randeep shared on his Instagram showed the actor appearing remarkably thin, wearing oversized shorts. In the caption, he simply wrote: “KAALA PAANI.” This suggests that the actor transformed to accurately portray scenes in the film set in the cellular jail (Kaala Paani).

Responding to the post, one fan remarked, “Our own Christian Bale!” drawing parallels to the Hollywood actor’s notable transformation for his role in The Machinist. Christian is renowned for his rigorous physical preparation for roles. Another fan commented, “Just look at the dedication… hats off!” Meanwhile, another comment praised Randeep’s commitment, stating, “You did this for Sarabjit also hats off to you for this huge respect.” This referred to Randeep’s role in Sarbjit, where he underwent significant weight loss to accurately portray the character’s struggles during imprisonment in the 2016 film.
Previously, Randeep had posted pictures of himself visiting a cell in Kalapani, where Savarkar was imprisoned. He disclosed that during the recce for his biopic, he attempted to lock himself inside the cell to empathize with Savarkar’s experience. “During the recce on his biopic, I tried to lock myself inside this cell to feel what he must have gone through. I couldn’t stay locked for even 20 minutes where he was locked for 11 years, often in solitary confinement,” he revealed in the caption.
Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, directed and co-written by Randeep Hooda alongside Utkarsh Naithani, is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Randeep Hooda Films in collaboration with Legend Studios and Avak Films.
