The trailer of Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Gully Boy was launched at a grand event in Mumbai. The film is directed by Zoya Akhtar and it depicts the journey of an underdog young rapper from the streets of Mumbai as he wants to become India’s biggest rapper.
During the press conference after the trailer launch, Alia was asked how it was like working with Ranveer in Gully Boy and Ranbir in Brahmastra and how similar or different they were as actors.
Alia said: They have quite a few similarities. They are both superb human beings and are outstanding actors. Both of them are special to me. The only difference is that I’m doing Gully Boy with one and Brahmastra with other,”
To which, Ranveer added, “Ek Thoda zyada special hai, ek thoda kam (One is a little more special than the other).”
After hearing this Alia couldn’t stop blushing. And she was all smiles.
It is rumored that Ranbir and Alia bonded with each other while shooting for Brahmastra. However, their love rumors sparked when they arrived at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception together.
Gully Boy is based on the life of Indian rapper Divine, who is famous for songs like Meri Gully and Roots. Alia and Kalki Koechlin, play contrasting love interests. While Alia is playing a lively young girl from a background similar to that of Ranveer’s character in the film. Kalki will depict the success he aspires to. The movie is co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The film is set to release on 14th February 2019.
