This year we all were depending upon series and movies for entertainment, and there is one more movie to add to your list: Bhumi Padnekar’s latest — ‘Durgamati: The Myth’ streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
The movie is an unconventional one with a strong female lead. It is directed by G. Ashok the film revolves around a former IAS officer, Chanchal Chauhan played by Padnekar who is a murder convict being investigated by the CBI, because of her close ties with the messianic politician, Ishwar Prasad played by Arshad Warsi.

The movie stars kickass female leads. Bhumi Padnekar’s character of an IAS officer and Durgamati is strong and bold. Mahie Gill’s hook dialogue “I don’t like negativity!” and her unforgiving CBI attitude are sure to watch.

‘Durgamati: The Myth’ is one such movie that is a balanced mixture of a thriller, drama, and horror. The unconventional theme is a piece of cherry on the cake.
- Bhumi Pednekar
Bhumi and her acting deserve a reason. He did an excellent job switching between the characters of Chanchal Chauhan and Durgamati leaving us hooked to our seats till the end.
- The perfect plot
In two and a half hours the plotline grows slowly and will keep you entertained throughout. The movie is full of twists and turns.
- Comic touch
We would like to say the movie is entertaining AF. it has horror tropes and comic relief as well. Shout out to Nand Singh and Gopi, played by Dhanraj and Brij Bhushan Shukla respectively.
