When author JK Rowling decided to end the Harry Potter series, many a Potter fans were heartbroken. But the author is back and now plans to write movies about Harry Potter.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling will make her screenwriting debut by writing a series of films set in the Harry Potter’s magical world. The first film of the series will be called Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It will be based on a textbook of the same name which was used by Harry and his classmates at their school Hogwarts, Rowling revealed on her Facebook page.
Within hours of this reveal this facebook status had more than 50,000 ‘likes’ and thousands of comments. Though Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint might not return for the next Harry Potter movie.
The film will be set in New York and feature magical zoologist Newt Scamander – the author of Harry’s textbook – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This film marks Rowling’s screenwriting debut, two years post the final film of the eight-part series rolled out. Advertisement
Apparently JK Rowling pitched the idea herself after the studio approached her about making Fantastic Beasts into a film. JK Rowling’s novel ‘The Casual Vacancy’ post Harry Potter was a massive failure.
